Direct Action Spitfire MKII plate carrier

0

Direct Action showed off their new Spitfire MKII plate carrier earlier year at SHOT Show 2020. The Spitfire MKII is actually an upgrade from their previous model, the popular Spitfire plate carrier. What Direct Action has done here, is taking the Spitfire and stripping it of some unnecessary features, such as extra PALS slots and reducing the weight overall.

But, the Poland based company didn’t just stop there: Direct Action took it a couple steps further by completely overhauling the approach to their plate carrier system. With the MKII, you get a base model plate carrier with almost endless possibilities for customization. The front portion of the carrier comes with two buckles to attach different flaps / chest rigs and interchange them quickly if need be.

The MKII gets shipped with a basic elastic cummerbund but can also be exchanged for different upgrades with molle webbing, elastic magazine inserts or ROC buckles for rapid access. The backside of the MKII has a hook and loop portion as well as partial laser-cut molle webbing and comes with a modular system. The zipper system on each side is used to attach different back panels (available through their website) and is also compatible with the Crye Precision AVS Standard.

The MKII plate carrier is made of Cordura 500D fabric and can be upgraded with an optional accessory cutaway system and comfort padding set. MSRP on this plate carrier is $239.00 for the base model.

Check out our video on the Direct Action MKII from SHOT Show 2020 and stay tuned for an upcoming in-depth review of this plate carrier in the near future. More info over at: directactiongear.com.

Raptor Tactical Odin Belt Mark III Review

Raptor Tactical Belt Review

Stepping into 2020, it seems that two-piece gun belts have swept social media. The designs all work on the same principle, with an inner and outer belt. The inner belt fastens around the waist inside your belt loops, and the outer belt for attaching your holster and accessories. Together, they use hook and loop, most commonly Velcro, to sandwich your belt loops, creating a stiff mated pair between your pants and your “First Line” of gear.

New B&T 10MM APC10 Sub Gun at SHOT Show 2020

At SHOT Show 2020 B&T showed off their new APC10 chambered in the hot 10mm catridge. The example they brought out to the range day had a 3D printed lower as the finalized version isn’t done yet. However even in it’s prototype form the APC10 shot very smoothly. It felt more like a 9mm than a 10mm. Check it out in the video above.

KET Brass Deflectors

Ket brass deflector

At the SHOT Show range day we spotted an interesting and budget friendly piece of range gear. They’re an easy to use brass deflector from KET. The don’t catch spent brass with a net or bag, instead they simply deflect the brass down and away from other shooters. I know how annoying it is having hot brass hit you, it’s not fun.

The KET brass deflectors simply clips onto your rifle or scope and they’re budget friendly, they also available on Amazon too with free shipping.

From their press release:

The Brass-Deflector works to stop spent ammunition from flying away and hitting nearby shooters during training. This unique design has been tested on some of the toughest firearms, and has even proven to stop shotgun shells with ease. One of the most unique qualities of this lightweight firearm accessory is that it has no capacity maximum, since it is not actually catching the brass, but dropping it directly beneath or next to your firearm for easy cleanup. The innovative design blocks ejected brass without jamming or weighing down your firearm, or overheating – allowing for increased accuracy and safe shooting.

For use with: KET Brass-Clips (included)
Material: 1000D Cordura
Weight: less than 1 oz.
Colors: Black, Coyote, Wolf Grey, Ranger Green, and Safety Orange
Origin: 100% made in the USA
