X-FER-holster

I’m a big fan of keeping it simple, especially when it comes to my gun accessories. Armordillo Concealment recently released their X-FER IWB concealment holster that accepts a weapons light system. Currently they’re available for various handguns (currently Glocks, M&Ps and 1911s) with Surefure X-300 or X-200 lights. Holsters for weapons using the TLR-1 is currently in pre-sale and should be available soon. Check out the video of the X-FER holster below. They’re available over at ArmordilloConcealment.com.

Rick’s Maglite Sound Suppressor from The Walking Dead

15

If you watched the first episode of season three of The Walking Dead last night you may have noticed that Rick and Carl Grimes are now sporting suppressors on their guns. You may have also noticed they seemed to be homemade with Rick’s silencer being made out of a flashlight, more specifically a 2-D Maglite flashlight like this. I had no idea you could even do it, but apparently it’s possible. There’s even a few DIY articles on it around the web.

While a Maglite silencer wouldn’t be my first choice, at least they won’t be attracting more walkers each time they fire a shot. I just wish the firearms effects were a little more realistic in the show. Did anyone else notice the lack of recoil, shells being expelled and slides/actions moving?

Check out our past post on the guns of The Walking Dead for more info on the guns used in the show as well as our post on Daryl Dixon’s crossbow used in The Walking Dead.

DoubleTap Cancels Production

0

It was over before it began, production of the DoubleTap pistol has been cancelled. Raymond B. Kohout, the inventor of the DoubleTap pistol that was debuted at the last SHOT Show recently announced that he has cut ties with his former manufacturing partner Hiezer Defense.

He is currently looking for a new manufacturing partner, and with all the press the DoubleTap received earlier this year I’m sure one will come along rather quickly.

From the press release:

To our valued customers:

As the inventor of the DoubleTap™ pistol and owner of the design and utility patents, along with other intellectual property including the DoubleTap™ name, I am issuing this press release to inform our loyal customers of the current status of the production of this new innovative pistol.

Since we introduced the DoubleTap™ Tactical Pocket Pistol in November of last year, we have been overwhelmed by the industry reception; the popularity confirmed by literally tens of thousands of orders placed by consumers to their dealers, through our distributor partners.

Unfortunately, with the deepest regret, today I announce that we have terminated our relationship with HEIZER DEFENSE, our manufacturing partner, due to their inability to manufacture the DoubleTap™ pistol. I cannot comment further on this subject at this time, under advice from legal counsel, due to pending litigation.

It is our intention to immediately license the design to a leading firearms manufacturer or to align with another manufacturing source to produce the DoubleTap™. We intend to accomplish this as quickly as possible to satisfy the huge demand for the DoubleTap™ pistol. I will make a further announcement as soon as we have established a new manufacturing agreement.
