Deal Alert: $6 Shotgun Flashlight Mount

2

Remember the $5 300LM flashlight we posted about the other day? Well here’s another great deal we stumbled upon, a budget shotgun mount for under $6. It’s a universal mount for 1″ flashlights, in the product listing it actually shows the 300LM flashlight we posted about so we know it should fit perfectly. It should also fit other model flashlights such as Surefires and Maglites as long as they’re 1″ in diameter.

I don’t have this mount yet, but customers in the product reviews section have said it fits Remington 870 and Mossberg 500 shotguns.  The mounts also have two weaver rail tabs for additional accessories. At under $6 shipped this mount won’t break the bank, stay tuned for our upcoming review of this budget shotgun light mount.

Magpul Gen 3 AR/M4 PMAG

Magpul Pmag Gen 3

magpul 30 round gen 3 pmagMagpul just released their new Gen 3 PMAG AR-15/M4 30 round magazines. Magpul claims that they’re the most reliable and durable PMAGs to date, I don’t see how more reliable they can get as older PMAGS have been almost 100% reliable for me. And according to Magpul the previous PMAGs will still be sold as the Gen M2 MOE at just $12.95 and $15.95 for the window model, a pretty awesome deal if you ask me.

So what about the new Gen 3? They’ll retail at $14.95 and $17.95 for the window model, still a great for value for what you get. The new 5.56×45 Gen 3 PMAGS will start shipping on November 1, 2012.

What’s new with the Gen 3 PMAG? Magpul has made the Gen 3 PMAGs even stronger using new polymer technology. Feed lip impact, spine strength, side impact, temperature impact and crush test have all been improved. The window material used in the window model Gen 3 PMAGS have been improved as well to help with durability and chemical resistance.

The external dimensions are slightly different to help it work with more platforms such as the HK 416, AR, M27 and SA-80. Magpul used an enhanced over-insertion stop for increased strength during fast and “extremely aggressive magazine changes”, i.e. tactical mag changes. Magpul also overhauled the internal geometry of their new PMAGs along with a new, low-friction, four-way anti-tilt follower for increased reliability during harsh conditions. The new followers are gray to help you distinguish them from previous followers.

There are even more improvements made to the new Gen 3 PMAGs and Magpul says they will be releasing videos pretty soon to show their new PMAGS in action. We’ll share them as soon as they’re posted. Check out all the new features and improvements of the new Gen 3 PMAGs over at Magpul.com.

Bear Grylls Parang Recall

gerber bear grylls parang

This may be old news to some, but while at my local sporting goods store I saw they had a  recall notice about the Bear Grylls Parang. If you own one head on over to Gerber’s site to find out more info on which models were are being recalled and how- to get a replacement. Apparently a batch of Parang’s had a defect that may cause a weakness in the handle.

Here’s a cool way to keep an extra mag handy for your AR-15. The Versa Pod lets you store an extra 20 round magazine in the buttstock of yout AR-15. With the push of a button the magazine pops right out of the stock made out of durable Dupont Zytel. At $200 it isn’t cheap, but it does seem like a great way to always have an extra 20 rounds handy.

AR-15 Carbon Removal Tool

2

AR-15s are some of the most popular rifles around, and for good reason. They’re accurate, ergonomic and can be customized any way you want. The one downfall to the AR is the need to always keep them cleaned and lubed. To those gun owners who always keep their guns cleaned and lubricated this isn’t really an issue, but to others it can seem like a chore.

That’s where the Carbon Removal Tool from Botach Tactical saves the day. At $20 shipped this handy little tool makes cleaning your AR-15 a breeze. The CRT helps remove carbon deposits on your ARs bolt tail and bolt carrier and features a 2-piece adjustable fork design with a dual scraping tip cleaner. The CRT is made in the USA out of high quality solid bar stock AISI SAE 0-1 tool steel and has a non-reflective matte finish. Check them out over at Amazon.
