Homemade Shotgun Made From a Caulking Gun

1

Remember that homemade Glock? They didn’t need a 3D printer, who needs a fancy 3D printer to make their own gun anyways? Not this guy on Reddit that’s for sure! Try this at your own risk kids, actually don’t try this at all. The discussion on the build can be found here.

Counterfeit Blackhawk Holsters Confiscated by Customs in Miami

Fake Magpul products have been all been the norm over the past few years, recently fake EOTech’s have even been spotted on Amazon. Well it looks like the next accessory maker targeted by counterfeiters is Blackhawk. It’s always best to buy from reputable dealers when buying your gear, if you see a deal that’s too good to be true chances are it is. It’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes with gear as vital as a duty holster.

NORFOLK, Va. – June 6, 2013 – U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently discovered two shipments of counterfeit BLACKHAWK!® products, including SERPA® holsters, at the Port of Miami. The subsequent seizure was the result of the collaborative efforts of BLACKHAWK! and CBP officials to prevent the influx of cheap and dangerous counterfeit products into the American market. This latest seizure sends a message to overseas counterfeiters that American companies will not accept infringement of their intellectual rights and dangerous imitations of their products.

“We would like to extend our thanks to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and, in particular, the vigilant officials at the Miami Seaport,” said BLACKHAWK! Brand Director Chuck Buis. “We work hard to ensure our customers aren’t exposed to imitation BLACKHAWK! products. Knowing we have agencies like the U.S. Customs and Border Protection working on the front lines to protect our customers is invaluable to us.”

Counterfeit products create confusion in the marketplace and pose a potential danger to users. Original products produce American jobs and provide the quality expected of brand name products.

Palmetto State Armory AR-15 Torture Test

1

Palmetto released the full-length version of their durability test video. Torture test videos are always cool to watch, but pretty much all AR-15 rifles made with quality mil-spec parts will pass the test shown in the video above. They don’t show anything that hasn’t really done before. That said, I’m a fan of Palmetto State Armory. I have one of their uppers and have purchased from them many times. The reason Palmetto has been so popular lately is the bang for the buck you get from them. Their rifles, uppers and parts kits are some of the most affordable on the market with pretty good quality to boot. Instead of just shooting rounds down range and dumping the rifles in dirt and water, they should highlight the value you get with their rifles.

Boba Fett Kydex Holster

Off The Grid Concepts recently posted this picture of a one off Boba Fett Kydex holster they custom made for Facebook firearms personality and Star Wars nerd Nikki Raye. As a huge fan of Boba Fett I’m pretty jealous, too bad they’re not making these because I’d definitely buy one.

Speaking of Boba Fett, did you know he’s an AR-15 shooter too?

Syrian Rebels Try To Shoot Down 747

1

Remember the group of freedom fighters who found the stash of WWII German STG-44s in Syria? Well apparently some of them aren’t too smart, case in point the video above. They can’t even hold the camera steady so how are they going to hit a moving Boeing 747 that far off with rifles that have the ballistics of a potato?

Steven Seagal New Spokesman For Russian Arms Maker

Steven-Seagal-1911-ar15

Here’s some interesting news out of Russia from Guns.com. It appears that the action-movie star and Sheriff Deputy Steven Seagal (seen with a 1911 and AR-15 he uses to take down bad guys in real life) will be the new face for Russian arms maker Degtyarev Arms. This past March he met with Russian president Vladimir Putin and recently with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin to tour the Degtyarev Arms plant. I sure hope the Russians are just trolling us just like the Brazilians did with Seagal.

Is The KRISS Vector Overrated?

1

kriss-vector

Andrew from VuurwapenBlog seems to think so. I got to shoot the KRISS Vector at the media range day at the SHOT Show and was pretty impressed with it, but then again I only got to go through one magazine and have no real world experience with the Vector. I do like using it in Call of Duty, yes I play Call of Duty. Anyone else feel the same way as Andrew? Leave us a comment.
