3D Printed Brass Catcher

With all the hoopla about 3D printed guns, finally there’s something made with a 3D printer that actually looks useful. A member over on Gunnit printed this nifty looking ambidextrous brass catcher. Yeah I know what you’re thinking, right now it’s more of a brass deflector, but the maker says they have plans on adding a net attachment to collect the deflected brass. It’s cool mods and accessories like this that actually makes me interested in 3D printing. You can view all the pictures of the build HERE.

Magpul’s New 40 Round Gen M3 PMAG

Magpul just announced the release of their new 40 round PMAG magazines. The PMAG 40 GEN M3 features a lot of the same features as their popular 30 round variant and is made here in the USA. However the new 40 rounder PMAG 40 GEN M3 also features new material technology and a new manufacturing process for better strength and reliability, which caused the delay in releasing them for so long. They retail for $19.95 and are available now from a few select retailers, for those in Colorado these will be available from the Boulder Airlift Program.

PMAG 40 AR/M4 GEN M3 Shipping Now! In a move to enhance safety for responsible citizens, military, and law enforcement alike, Magpul Industries is now shipping the PMAG 40 GEN M3. Several years in the making, the PMAG 40 was delayed while GEN M3 technology was perfected to insure the highest quality product and full compatibility with the USMC M27 IAR. With the same compatibility as the 30-round GEN M3, the PMAG 40 provides 10 more rounds of capacity before requiring a reload—which could be a lifesaving difference. This new “safe capacity” offering is ideally suited for those who may need to respond to multiple threats without extra rifle magazines carried on their person, or for military members looking for an extra margin of safety in high-tempo operations. Just 2 1/8″ longer than the 30-round version, the PMAG 40 is just as reliable, durable, and compatible as the PMAG 30. The optimized magazine spring can handle feeding at cyclic rates over 1150 rounds per minute, so the extra 10 rounds of safety comes with the ability to more than keep up with platforms such as the M249 SAW and the M27 IAR. Designed for and tested in the most demanding environments. Available and suitable for all responsible civilian and military applications.

Occupations That Require a Bullet and Stab Proof Vest

1

Covert-and-Overt

[Guest post by SafeGuard]

In the world we live in, where people often make decisions based on the lack of respect to others, getting protected with a bullet proof vest or stab proof vest sometimes can be the matter of life and death, especially for such professionals, as various security guards and many domestic front-line managers.

It is critical to comprehend that a lack of proper safety measures may easily put a person at increased risk and often result in severe injuries. This is the reason why bullet proof vests and stab proof vests become a real need in case of multiple domestic frontline occupations.

About ten years ago, the Health and Safety Laboratory of the UK (HSL) has conducted multiple case studies that included four hundred organizations of different sizes and from different professional backgrounds. The selected organizations were sent out questionnaires and then interviewed, respectively. The information that was provided by them became the foundation of these widely recognized and reputed case studies.

The result plainly resembles the question, “Why would someone need to wear body armor?”

Highlighted Areas of Risk

– Visiting individuals in their offices or homes to enforce regulations and laws, control the system, or bear bad news indicate higher risk levels and, thus, the need for bullet proof vests or stab proof vests;

– Particular geographical locations or trouble areas, such as run down or poor neighborhoods or areas with high crime levels also indicate high risks;

– Dealing with particular persons, including potentially aggressive or violent individuals, drug dealers or users, or mentally diseased persons;

– Dealing with utterly disappointed and frustrated clients (such as clients, who are utterly unsatisfied with the provided services);

– Late night work;

– Expelling individuals from their houses;

– Protecting or securing people, events, or property is a professional duty that particularly warrants the necessity for stab proof vests or bullet proof vests;

– Visiting idle buildings.

Each of the mentioned points represents a true reason to – at the very least – consider getting a vest, whether stab proof or bullet proof. If you think more about it, you will find a lot more reasons of getting a body armor set in these particular cases.

Nevertheless, the most popular argument to oppose body armor is the way it could be seen by members of the public, when frontline workers start walking around fully packed in bullet proof vests, for example. The thing is that this perception is probably one of the most significant problems in terms of personal security. So, overt bullet proof or stab proof vests may frequently be recognized as quite confrontational, specifically when coping with drunk or high individuals or people, who don’t give any respect to authorities, you, or your organization. For additional threat information and covert bullet proof vests, safeguardclothing.com can guide you through more advanced protection requirements.

The need to wear body armor doesn’t mean that you are necessarily in danger nor it means that you should look behind your back every other minute. It just means that you will have a better chance of staying safe and unharmed in a possible case of things going the wrong way. Whether you work as a police officer, prison guard, personal security guard, or any other domestic frontline professional, a bullet proof or stab proof vest can become a life saver one day.

Mosin Nagant Still Seeing Action in Syria

1

Even after 100 years the venerable old Mosin Nagant is still being used around the world. The video above shows Syrian rebels using a Mosin Nagant 91/30 to attempt t0 snipe at Syrian government troops. I wonder if these guys can still hear anything after popping a few rounds without hearing protection? The Mosin isn’t the only WWII rifle being used in Syria, a while back we posted about an M1 Garand spotted in Syria and a large cache of STG-44s found in Syria as well.

Check out a few other videos of the Mosin being used in the conflict in Syria.

Amazon’s Zombie Apocalypse Store

So I was shopping for a cool new survival game on Amazon called The Last of Us (anyone played it yet?) when I noticed a link to Amazon’s Zombie Apocalypse Store where they survival gear, tactical gear and zombie themed books and video games. They’re a bit late to hop on the zombie bandwagon but it seems like zombies are still “in” for now.

BCM Releases Their Vertical Grip

0

bcm-grip

Bravo Company USA, or BCM, is one of the most popular AR makers around. And for good reason, they make darn good AR-15s and AR parts. I have a BCM AR upper and it’s safe to say I’m a fan. BCM branched out from being an AR builder into an AR accessory maker with their own line of pistol grips. Well now they’ve just released their new vertical grips as well. They go for $49.95 and feature a forward angle for increased rigidity and a more natural wrist angle. They’re made out of polymer and are available in black, foliage green and flat dark earth. They’ll also have shorty version available later this year.

Mosin Nagant Muzzle Brakes From Mosin Plus

2

mosin-muzzle-brake

I’m a big fan of the Mosin Nagant rifle, they’re cheap and rugged and with some practice they can be pretty accurate. One of the downfalls for many shooters with the Mosin is the sharp recoil from the hard hitting 7.62x54R round. I have one of these recoil buttpads from Amazon that takes out a bit of  the sting, I also have a Past Mag protection pad too. It’s not that I’m recoil sensitive or that I’m a wuss, OK maybe I am, it’s just after a day at the range with my Mosin Nagant my body feels like I was run over by a train.

Another way to help reduce recoil is with a good muzzle brake, enter the MP91 muzzle brake from MosinPlus. They have a fast lock brake that twist behind the front sight base as well as a version for those who have removed the front sight or chopped down their barrel. They’re made right here in the USA and feature porting on the top and sides of the brake to help take a bit of the bite out of your Mosin’s recoil. They only fit the 91/30 Mosin Nagant however, they won’t work with the M44 of M38. They start at $45 over at MosinPlus.com.
