Viet Cong 1911 Clone

0

viet-cong-1911

John Browning’s 1911 pistol is undoubtedly one of the most influential handgun designs of all time. It’s no wonder so many companies have made their own versions of the 1911, so have the Viet Cong. Just like the homemade Glock from Russia, this pistol is pretty rough looking, and probably scary to shoot. This Viet Cong clone was brought back by a Vietnam War veteran who then sold it to Wartime Collectibles. The pistol has the basic shape of a 1911 but is missing a few features, most notably is the lack of a safety. It also has an external extractor and the mag release is located at the heel of the gun (just like the Walther P-38/P1). Even the magazines are pretty rough copies.

7.62x54R Bottle Opener

762x54r-mosin-nagant-bottle-opener

Remember the .50BMG bottle opener? Here’s one for the C&R rifle fans, a member over on Reddit made an awesome bottle cap opener from a spent steel 7.62x54R casing.

From the Reddit post:

I didn’t expect this post to get as big as it did! Some information about the bottle openers. I cut them using a triangle jewelers hand file and a drill, then sanded down the outside using 100 grit, then 220 grit sandpaper. I’ve done a good amount of testing with these. That is to say, I drink a lot and it hasn’t let me down yet!

These aren’t for sale from the member who made them, but they might be in the future. Or you can give it a try and make your own if you have a few spent casings laying around.

HTA 90/22 Stock and Suppressed Full-Auto 10/22

This guy is really using his new High Tower Armory 90/22 bullpup stock to it’s full potential. He’s rocking a custom Ruger 10/22 in his 90/22 stock that has Norrell 10/22 full auto trigger pack and a integrally suppressed Green Mountain barrel. It’s safe to say I’m pretty darn jealous.

The Iron Glock Homemade Frame Receiver

Remember the dude that made the AK-47 out of a shovel? Well he made something else out of some metal bits, a homemade Glock lower receiver frame dubbed the Iron Glock. Check out the entire build thread here. Why would someone want to do this you ask? Well just like with 80% AR-15 lower receivers there’s no paper work needed, and since the frame/receiver is considered the firearm you can buy a Glock slide and barrel and pretty much make a complete pistol. Don’t like the bare metal pistol grip? He even stuck one of his creations into a Glock airsoft frame.

Heizer Defense HD1 Pocket Shotgun

Pocket gun maker Heizer Defense makers of the Doubletap pistol has a new gun on the way. Their new HD1 Pocket Shotgun is an aluminum and stainless steel framed, also available in titanium, top break pocket pistol that’s chambered in both .410 shotgun and .45 Colt. They be available in titanium grey, black, and military green finishes. You can find more info at HiezerDefense.com.

It is important to know that we will only use Stainless Steel or Titanium frames. We believe that these are the safest and most durable alloys. In our opinion lighter metals do not provide the safest and most enjoyable experience that our consumers deserve. We will not allow the commercial distribution of a pistol until we are certain of the safety and the durability of the product. That is why we have chosen Stainless Steel as our base material.

Making a Peg Board Wall Gun Rack

Ever since I was a kid and I saw Burt’s gunroom in Tremors I’ve always wanted to do something similar in my man cave. So I got to thinking, the easiest way to display my arsenal would probably be the tried and true pegboard. Pegboard has been used for organizing tools in people’s garages for ages, it’s perfect for displaying guns and accessories. It’s pretty easy to install and doesn’t cost too much at your local hardware store.

You can use standard mounts, but I found these gun pegboard racks on Amazon that were made specifically for pistols that are under $12 shipped,

They include a universal mounting bracket too in case you wanted to mount them directly to your wall. These power drill pegboard racks for under $5 would work perfectly for rifles and shotguns. This will be a fun little project to tackle this summer, and a perfect excuse to buy more guns to fill out my wall! Has anyone else done something like this with their collection?

Staple Gun Firearms From Bahrain

These homemade staple gun firearms were posted over on Impro Guns, apparently they’re from Bahrain but not much else is known about them. It just looks like it uses a standard staple gun as a single-shot receiver along with a crude barrel and foregrip. Does anyone know what kind of ammo that is in the second picture?

I wouldn’t want to go into battle with this, but it seems like it would make a good liberator pistol to use to acquire a real firearm from an enemy soldier.

The Most Bubba’d Glock on GunBroker

5

gunbroker-glock-fail

GunBroker can have some real gun gems, like this American made Westinghouse 1891 Mosin Nagant, and it can have some real hack jobs. Remember the $100 bill camo’d AK? Well here’s a good one, and it makes me wonder. Is this the most Bubba’d out Glock in the history of Glocks?

Now I don’t know what’s worst, the lack of a trigger guard, or the fact that there’s actually a bid on this catastrophe? At least all the accessories make up for hack job mods, right?
