Well the folks over at BulletSafe just released their new ARAK Bulletproof Shield that offers NIJ Level III protection against common assault rifle rounds like 5.56 NATO from the AR-15 and 7.62×39 from the AK-47. It measures 15″ wide and 23″ tall with a total of 345 square inches of protection. The best part is it weights in at just 11.2 pounds. It’s made out of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW PE) and retails at a very reasonable $749.

I recently stumbled upon an interesting product called the Lockdown Magnetic Barrel Rest. As the name suggest it has a magnetic back and it can be attached to metal surfaces to serve as a handy mobile rifle barrel rest. The part that contacts your barrel is made out of molded rubber and it has space for three long guns. It gives you space to rest three long guns as you shuffle through your safe of you can bring it to the range with you.
