Sig Sauer’s cash for klunker handguns program

The federal government had their Cash for Clunkers program to help stimulate sales for the auto industry, so in an attempt to stimulate sales for their hand guns, Sig Sauer is having their own Cash for Kunker Handguns promotion. If you buy a new Sig P220, P226, P229, 1911, Sig556 pistol or Sig556 rifle from a Sig Sauer dealer between September 7th to November 30th, 2009, you’ll get $200 for your old “klunker” handgun. The offer is good for pistols or revolvers, to get in on this deal you’ll need to send in a copy of your form 4473 as well as your proof of purchase. Be sure to send it in before December 4th, 2009 to participate.

Marlin Fall 2009 rebate promo

The rebate program is going on from 8/01/2009 to 12/31/2009. If you buy a Marlin 336 lever-action rifle you’ll get $35 off. For a Marlin 795 rifle you’ll get $20 off. If you pick up one of Marlins other .22 rifles you’ll get $20 off as well. While it’s not much of a rebate, it’s still a welcomed discount in these slow times. The auto industry is in world of hurt, with the Hummer brand taking the brunt of the economic slowdown, what is a Hummer dealership to do? Well Lynch Hummer in Chesterfield, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, has opened up his “Adventure Accessories” gun shop right in his Hummer dealership. Lynch said about his new business move, “It is a natural fit. Our customers enjoy outdoor sports and the firearms have been a big hit with our Hummer owners.”

Lynch has been successful Hummer dealership for a long time, so when times got tough they didn’t give up. Firearms and SUVs are a big part of American culture, so it seems like a good move on their part. Remington 17 HMR amm and Model 597 rifle recall and buyback

Remington has issued a recall as well as a buyback of their Model 597 .17 HMR rifles, they are also buying back any Remington .17 HMR ammo as well. Rimfire rifles are not without their problems, and this issue seems to reflect that. If there are any issues with Remington rifles or with their .17 HMR ammo Remington claims they will cover the cost, so if you have a Model 597 rifle or any Remington .17 HMR rimfire ammunition be sure to contact Remington. Big 5 carries Mosin Nagants again

The Mosin Nagant bolt-action rifle is a must have any WWII or vintage rifle fans. The Russian workhorses are known not only for the part they played in saving “Mother Russia” from the Nazi’s, but for how tough and durable they are as well. Recently the Mosin Nagant rifle in all its various configurations have been the budget rifle of choice. They are cheap (under $100), tough as nails, powerful, and many cases still very accurate. Well it looks like the sporting goods chain Big 5 Sporting Goods has a new lot of Mosin Nagants in stock and on sale for $99 (plus tax and DROS fee of course). The M91/30’s don’t include the bayonet and accessory kits however, but if you missed all the oppurtunities to get your hands on a Mosin in the past then you might want to jump on this before they’re gone. Or you can just spend the $30 and get a C&R FLL.
