When traveling to a war torn country like Israel where terrorism is a daily routine and security is always at high alert, you don’t want to be acting suspiciously. Lily Sussman was supposedly acting odd while traveling to Tel Aviv from Egypt, so Israeli security officers questioned her, then shot three bullets through her Apple MacBook. The bad, her MacBook was toast, the good, they missed the hard drive so her data can be salvaged. Also, Israeli authorities have said that they will reimburse her for her troubles.
It just goes to show, Israelis are PC users, or that their security forces are not to be messed with. Read what Lily had to say on her blog:
Then they asked me to wait. Since they had asked for friends and families phone numbers I assumed they might be calling to verify my answers to questions or confirm I really had extended family in Tel Aviv. An announcement played over the sound system, interrupting my break in the sunshine. First in Hebrew, then Arabic, then in English. It was something along the lines of, “do not to be alarmed by gunshots because the Israeli security needs to blow up suspicious passanger luggage.”
I went inside to check on my bag. I had left it unattended, where they instructed. It was still there so I went back outside.
Moments later a man came outside and introduced himself as the manager on duty. And then, “I’m sorry but we had to blow up your laptop.”

its not that they hate you its just that they have many enemies and you just came from egypt so there are worried that there is a bomb and they have never seen a laptop like that before
Israelis clearly prefer Linux.
