Looks like France is finally working on replacing their FAMAS rifles. They’re looking to acquire 90,000 rifles chambered in 5.56mm x 45 NATO from a foreign producer as they no longer have the production capacity to produce them in country. So far on the list of potential replacement list are the FN Herstal FN SCAR-L, the Thales Australia F90, the German Heckler & Koch HK416A5, the Italian Beretta ARX160, and the Czech CZ 805 BREN. Read more on their search for a new assault rifle over at Janes.com.

If you could choose a replacement what would you pick?
