I was watching the Comic-Con trailer for Season 4 of The Walking Dead when I noticed what seems to be the first gun goof of S4. Anything look wrong with that AR-15? I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume in the post apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead whatever optic they had mounted died (notice the flat-top rail riser on there too) and they were forced to discard it. And in a pinch, I guess you can still hit targets that are relatively close with just the front sight. In reality however, it’s just one of the many gun goofs in the series so far.

There was Merle Dixon shooting an AR-15 with his BUIS flipped down, the Governor shooting an AR-15 with no rear sight, and the ongoing issue of Rick Grime’s horrible shooting stance whenever he uses his Colt Python. Even with the gun related mistakes I’m still an avid fan and am looking forward to season four.

  1. You have left out a lot of mistakes from the show I love, about guns and other things. One of the funniest I find is the use of a 2013 hyundai as Glen and Maggie’s car, yet the apocalypse in the show happened in 2010.

  2. Meh, could really care less. Firearm handling is so often missed in modern entertainment. It’s still a fun show and I can’t wait till Oct. Being in San Diego and going to the con on Sunday, it was a great booth for the WD
