In the wake of reports of the Russian state-owned firearms maker Izhmash going bankrupt, it seems like former Soviet propaganda ministers are already hard at work trying to make it seem like everything is fine and dandy at Izhmash. English Russia, a blog about all things Russian pretty much, posted this article about how Kalashnikovs are made. While it’s pretty interesting to see how guns are made at the historical complex, is it more than just coincidence that this was posted after it has been confirmed that Izhmash has gone bankrupt? If Izhmash is to stay afloat it seems like they need to get away from their Soviet-era manufacturing mindset, they can’t survive on military contracts anymore.
Sweet, thanks for posting!
Interesting to get a look inside Izhmash, this would never be possible during the cold war.
