As a big fan of surplus military rifles this video was right up my alley. All of the rifles in Iraqveteran8888’s video are great military battle rifles and will serve you well. Every collection should have at least a few of these gems. So far I personally only have a few of the rifles in the list, but I hope to one day have them all.
1) Mosin Nagant M91/30 (7.62x54r)
2) Mauser 98 (8mm)
3) Enfield No. 4 Mk1 and variants (.303 British)
4) M1 Garand (.30-06)
5) Swiss K-31 (7.5x55mm)
Wow, what a coincidence! I looked at 3 of these rifles today: Mosin Nagant, Mauser and M1 Garand. The Russian rifle was cheap, around $120.00. The M1 Garand was expensive, over $1300.00. I don’t recall how much the German Mauser was. Somewhere in between, I imagine. Anyway, if I had enough “spare” money to buy a Garand, I would find the additional 2 hundred bucks to get an M1A (civilian M14). That is the most accurate, reliable weapon that I ever fired and you cannot compare 8 rounds of 30-06 (Garand) with 20 rounds of .308 (M1A). Right now, the Mosin Nagant would be my choice in that it is cheap and the surplus ammo is readily available.
