Bill Introduced to Make Winchester Model 70 the Official Alaska Firearm

Looks like the trend to pass bills creating official state firearms may be taking off, in January a bill made the 1911 the official firearm of Utah. Now it appears a bill is being introduced in Alaska by Republican Senator Charlie Huggins’ to make the pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 .30-06 caliber rifle the official firearm of Alaska. The rifle is rugged and reliable and is very popular among Alaskan hunters and trappers.
