Sig Sauer debuted their special edition 1911 at the 2012 SHOT Show. It features the famous historical phrase “ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ” in the same script on the monument at Thermopylae in Greece in remembrance of the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC.  The ancient Greek phrase ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ, or Molon Labe and pronounced mo-lone lah-veh, means “come and take them”. It has been a battle cry as of late for gun owners and patriots alike. It is currently the emblem of the Greek First Army Corps as well as the motto of the United States Special Operations Command Central. No word on pricing or availability as of yet from Sig, stay tuned for more info as we get it.

EDIT: Apparently I’m blind, the MSRP on the the Spartan 1911 is $1,356.00. Thanks for the catch Stan.

  2. “No word on pricing or availability as of yet from Sig.”??? There is an msrp on the plate in the second photo. Looks like $1,300 or $1,700.
