Sorry, Tom Thumb, but I know of no one who is an experienced instructor who thinks or teaches that the crossed thumbs grip on a revolver is proper. I have, many times, seen new students try to use crossed thumbs and had the hammer not complete its cycle because the thumb was blocking it and kept the gun from firing. There is always “that guy” who looks for some excuse not to do things correctly.
I use the “teacup” because do to a neurological condition when I grip the handgun in the correct way, my left arm starts to shake and wobble making a proper sight picture impossible.
“crossed thumbs” is perfectly acceptable on a revolver… so stating that its “improper or dangerous HANDGUN grip habits” is false
